Understanding Young Children’s Behaviour
This booklet is for parents of young children up to the age of six. It aims to give you a better understanding of your child’s behaviour and what it is that your child is trying to communicate through their behaviour. It also offers some ideas that you might find helpful in guiding you to support your child to express their emotions, needs and wants effectively.

Biting in the Early Years
Toddler biting is a very common behaviour, which means there are a lot of concerned parents out there. You are not alone. The good news is that there is a lot that parents and caregivers can do to reduce and, ultimately, eliminate biting. Please click on the link below to learn more about this.

Moving from Preschool to School
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) worked with pre-schools and primary schools to develop the Mo Scéal: Moving from Preschool to Primary templates. Mo Scéal means ‘my story’ and the templates help to tell the story of the child’s learning and development. This information will be shared with parents and, with their consent, with the primary school.
