Clare Parenting was developed over two years and is informed by the work of the Clare Children and Young People’s Committee (CYPSC) and Tusla’s Parenting Support Strategy 2022-2027, along with parents' voices, and the vast experience of child and family support professionals who work with families in Co. Clare.

In developing the website we consulted with parents and services to gather their views on what they believe is most helpful for parents.

Parents told us about their existing knowledge of parenting services and explained the main challenges they face.

Parents told us:

  • Some parents were not aware of any parenting services in Clare.
  • Parents seek reliable and dependable local information related to parenting support services.
  • Parents want comprehensive and practical guidance on a wide range of parenting-related subjects.
  • They want to access trusted and credible sources of information and guidance for parents.
  • And parents really want user-friendly and visually-engaging information, presented in formats with which they can relate.

Professionals working with children and families told us:

  • Agencies need a co-ordinated, interagency communication mechanism to advertise, collaborate, and communicate with each other in relation to parent supports and services.
  • They feel that parents in Clare would benefit from an easily accessible online communication mechanism where agencies, practitioners, and parents can access and update information in relation to parenting supports and services.

We are delighted to welcome you to clareparenting.ie and we hope you find the information we provide to be helpful to you.

We welcome suggestions for improvements from parents and professionals alike.

Slide 10
Sleep is so important for
Positive Mental Health

Here are some tips:

1. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. This helps body clock regulation.

2. Create a sleepy environment.

3. Limit using your devices at night.

4. Develop your own personal wind-down routine by brushing your teeth, changing your clothes and drinking a glass of water.

5. Getting active during the day is especially good for sleep.
